1. First a few words about the service – if that doesn’t interest you, go straight to 2.

I found Harastuhl on the Internet and first had a look at their website. Then I discovered that the chairs are also available here and, based on my previous good experience with the transaction via Amazon, I decided to buy via this platform.

After ordering, I received a call from the manager, who gave me very detailed advice (about 15 minutes of conversation). Questions were asked about my complaints, average sitting time, etc. and she explained the advantages of this chair. Another model was also considered, which is a little less “aggressive”. After a very clear explanation of when the Zenon is more suitable (e.g. if you like to roll up 1-2 pillows on the couch to have support in the lumbar area) I then decided to stick with the original selection.

The chair was then delivered and was really very easy to assemble. It quickly became apparent that I couldn’t cope with the backrest – the backrest is really VERY aggressive and couldn’t be adjusted optimally for me. Unfortunately, I also had very bad back pain on this chair.

When I asked Haratech whether and how a return was possible, I was offered the opportunity to test the second chair presented (Dolphin). All that was required was to replace the backrest. Haratech covered the shipping costs and also organized the collection of the Zenon backrest.

It was very positive that the new backrest was sent first and then the corresponding box could be used for the return.

After I had received the new backrest, I informed Haratech and they organized the collection of the old backrest and I was given the appointment. Unfortunately, the service provider came a day earlier, but by chance this wasn’t a problem.

As the Zenon costs more than the Dolphin, the question remained as to whether I had paid “too much”. This was refunded immediately after receiving the returned backrest.

So the service definitely deserves 5 stars!!

2. now to the chair (Zenon) itself:
The quality is immediately apparent when unpacking. Compared to the well-known chairs from furniture stores, this is a gem. The backrest is limited but infinitely adjustable in height and lateral alignment. The lumbar area really stands out very clearly and is not suitable for everyone. I found the counter pressure to be too strong and therefore uncomfortable. The armrests are easily adjustable in width when attaching and otherwise adjustable in height – I would describe the quality here as “normal”. The headrest was rather superfluous for me, unless you lean back… which doesn’t happen that often in normal office life 😀

2 a) Dolphin chair:
The quality is also immediately impressive here, no cheap fabric that immediately shows signs of use and no cheap frame. Everything is very high quality and nice to look at (even if appearances aren’t everything).
The backrest is continuous and not height adjustable, which is not a problem for my height (1.70m). It is very comfortable and you could call the Dolphin a comfortable office chair. The headrest is also rather superfluous here when sitting normally. The armrests are easily adjustable in width when attached and otherwise adjustable in height – I would describe the quality here as “normal”.

My complaints after sitting for long periods were:
– poor circulation in the lower legs
– cold feet
– back pain in the lumbar region

Both chairs have a split seat, of course. I ordered the chair for home because I spend a lot of time in front of the PC there too. At first I was concerned about whether the change between the normal chair at work and the one at home would be a problem. This is not the case. At home I just prefer sitting on the chair 😉

It takes a bit of getting used to at first, as lateral movements are a little less supported than on a normal chair. Everyone knows the feeling on a normal chair – you sit on one buttock when you bend to the right or left. With this chair the seats move with you and the weight stays on both seats and on both buttocks :p.

The problems have decreased. I still have cold feet from time to time, but that is not always due to the chair. The circulation problems have almost completely disappeared – in the summer I still get “swollen legs” after sitting for a long time, but I think that is more due to the temperature. I cannot attest to the chair’s 100% reduction in problems, but it is definitely a very good improvement!!

In the end, everyone has to find out for themselves whether the split seat is suitable. You should allow for a few days to get used to it, but I can say that when I sat on it for the first time I thought WOW! The price is high – yes. BUT you get quality and, in the best case, a significant reduction in symptoms. And that is definitely worth it for your health. Even after 5 months, I would definitely recommend buying it!

The service at Hara Chair is outstanding. Immediately after the purchase, I was contacted by phone to have a short conversation to ensure that I had chosen the right model. The shipment was very prompt shortly afterwards. I was also guaranteed that I could return the product without any problems if I was not satisfied with the seating experience after a few days. After 2 weeks, the lady then asked me again by phone whether I was satisfied with the chair. In addition, a longer headrest was sent to me free of charge due to my height.

About the chair itself: The assembly was very intuitive and did not pose any problem. The lower base and the frame are made of solid, chrome-plated metal and the striking backrest and the seats are also of high quality. The other plastic parts give a robust impression, but often have some play due to the possibility of adjusting them. This means that individual elements (especially the armrests) sometimes appear a little “rickety” without actually affecting the functionality or stability in any way. If you want to adjust the height of the backrest, you do this using two plastic screws that have to be pushed up and down in a guide ring on the metal frame. It is necessary to screw these really tightly, otherwise they tend to slide back down over time when the back is under strain. If you know how to do it, it’s not a problem.

Seat quality: I chose this model because I was getting pain in my lower lumbar spine after sitting for long periods. This turned out to be an absolutely worthwhile investment, as I hardly had any pain on the Zenon chair. You have to experiment a bit with the various adjustment options of the chair at first, but I finally arrived at a configuration that I am very happy with.

Conclusion: After 6 weeks with the Zenon chair, I am very happy with the seat quality of the product and can fully recommend the HAARASTUHL company due to their outstanding customer service.

You can be skeptical at first when a large box with Korean writing arrives 😉
After the order was placed, the supplier called with careful advice about the chair ordered and the possible sensible alternatives with a reference to the website.
One day later, the chair was easily assembled at home in 10 minutes. Tools are included.
For me (110 kg and 190 cm tall, with lumbar problems) after two days of more than 10 hours of use, a completely new sitting experience. For the first time, I have one
lumbar support in the chair that actually deserves the name. The two-part seat: simply ingenious, it makes static sitting really dynamic. It’s fun!

O.k., you can only reach the headrest with the back of your head when the backrest is at a 45° angle, but I didn’t order the chair to sleep on. Conclusion: When you have tried all the overpriced and, in my opinion, mostly inadequate chairs from Topstar to PRINTUS to TOPDEQ and Kairo, some of which cost well over 1000 euros, you know that you are getting a lot of chair with a lot of know-how for very little money.

Addendum from April 14, 2016: If the armrest padding is torn at the seam, the seller reacts immediately and sends a replacement armrest pad within 24 hours.
Now that’s what I call service!

Assembly was child’s play, the parts are very solid, the chair looks very nice and the swivel base with the wheels is compact.

I had a slipped disc 2 months ago and was looking for a good office chair so that I could get back to work as quickly as possible. I then came across the Hara chair on the internet. I liked the concept and, despite the price, I was guided by the positive reviews and ordered the chair.

We have bought the chair several times in the last few years. The office chair is not really cheap, but it is “worth the money”. Back pain from sitting for long periods is simply a thing of the past with this chair. The split seat relieves the spine as much as possible.

The gas pressure lift on one chair was defective after 4.5 years, and the manufacturer replaced it for us free of charge.

After my back started to hurt from sitting for long periods in the home office on a “cheap office chair” (and then a round of gaming),
I needed a new office chair.
After some research, I chose the Hara chair Zen LS.
And I haven’t regretted it to this day.
– Perfectly adjustable to my sitting position
– Very good back support, sufficiently strong and easily adjustable suspension of the backrest
– Generously adjustable seat depth (by moving the backrest forwards or backwards)
– Ingenious technology on the seat
– Armrests wide enough and sufficiently adjustable in height, but far enough back that you can easily reach the table
The outstanding feature is of course the two-part and individually sprung seat (the Zen LS does not have a split backrest)
It is a bit strange at first and it took me a few days to get used to it. But after that, my pain in my tailbone and the rest of my buttocks gradually disappeared. A little later, my back pain got less, and now I am pain-free even after sitting for a long time.
Small note: JUST SITTING is of course generally not recommended, I also have a height-adjustable table in my home office that I use regularly during the day.
But I already had that at work. And even the best chair is no substitute for sufficient breaks and enough exercise!
After more than two years, a spring on the seat of the chair had broken. But after a short conversation with a friendly and competent employee at Hara chair,
the spring was sent to me quickly and even free of charge. Perfect service that is unfortunately rare these days.

Clear purchase recommendation. Why?
Delivery was great and assembly is easy. You just have to put the top and bottom together, screw on the back and armrests and then adjust as required.
It takes a few days before the settings are really right and you have to get used to this chair. But I can only recommend it, it has an absolutely positive effect on the body, especially if you have to sit for the entire working day. The lumbar vertebrae and the entire hip/pelvic floor area are relieved and circulation is not as disrupted as on a normal PC chair. And I have a lot of back and pelvic floor problems. Of course you still have to do a lot to compensate. The price is of course not exactly cheap, but in my opinion the chair is worth it and so is my health. The chair is also very high quality.

We have had this chair for almost 6 years now. My husband is 194 and weighs 95 kilos and I am 174 and weigh 60 kilos. The chair fits both of us because it is easily adjustable.
For the first few years we shared this chair because my husband only spent one day a week at his desk.

Especially recently because of working from home, my husband has been sitting on the chair alone, five days a week, often 9 hours a day. Which isn’t really that great, but at least with this chair it is possible without back pain. He is therefore very happy with the seating comfort.

My story:
I come from Austria and have been looking for a comfortable office chair for a long time, as I have to sit for up to 8 hours a day.
A few details about me: I am about 1.90m tall and weigh ~110kg and have tried out a few of the cheap chair models from various furniture stores (Lutz, Leiner, Möbelix) and have never been satisfied.
The most difficult challenge for a chair considering my height is probably the combination of a stable backrest and good head/neck support
– which just doesn’t seem to be possible up to now.
I spent a long time looking into the topic of “sitting” and after searching I came across Haratech and one of their competitors. After lengthy comparisons I decided on Hara.

About the order and Haratech:
It is a company with Japanese origins, the branch/Germany is based in Bavaria. Since I live in Austria and HaraTech does not have a branch, I had no opportunity to test the chair beforehand and of course I had my concerns – but I was convinced of the choice.
I was contacted by a very friendly Haratech support team immediately after ordering, who then engaged me in a consultation regarding my order, as this chair is more of an investment.

After a lengthy discussion, I decided on the Zenon, which I now have at home.

About the chair:
The chair was at my home just 3 days after I ordered it. One positive thing I have to say is the ease of assembly, the chair was completely screwed together and ready to use within 5 minutes. I was really impressed by the workmanship of the individual elements, not just a chair for the back but also for the eye. The seat takes a little getting used to at first due to the new technology as it adapts to every movement, but after a short time it becomes very pleasant. The backrest supports the hollow back optimally, which is the most important thing for me. The only drawback is once again the headrest. By the time you reach it with your head, you’ve already fallen over – but unfortunately I haven’t found a solution to this problem either at Hara or anywhere else.

Conclusion:
I advise anyone over 1.80m to speak to support beforehand or get advice and, if possible, test it.
Pro:
Chair, support and technology impressive, very comfortable and recommendable.
Cons:
Headrest positioned far too far back – by the time you reach a comfortable position, you’re not far from a deck chair.

This chair is worth every cent. I didn’t order it from Amazon because my employer paid for it, but I would still like to recommend it to anyone who has problems with their intervertebral discs. I’ve had a slipped disc for 2 years and often had severe pain after sitting for long periods. Without painkillers, it was often impossible to work. Since then, I’ve had almost no pain with the chair. Even if I started the day with pain and then sat in the chair, it was gone by the end. I find the flexible seat that gives way particularly relaxing. You should test beforehand whether someone can “tolerate” the lumbar support. I have it in the car, for example, and find it very comfortable. But everyone can feel differently. The Hara Chair company called me beforehand and explained everything to me, and recommended this chair to me because I actually wanted to order a different model.

So I’m happy to be able to sit on this chair every day without pain. And I’m rarely 100% satisfied.

After the backrest of my old office chair gave up the ghost, I went looking for a new office chair and found the Haratech ZEN chair. With a height of 1.90m and a weight of around 110kg, as well as sitting in the home office for 8 hours, it had to be something stable. I have the HARA CHAIR® model – Orthopedic office chair – Zen-LS. The lumbar support offers me more comfort than a split backrest. I can only recommend it to anyone who has problems with their intervertebral discs. Compared to conventional office chairs, the price-performance ratio is excellent.

I have had this chair for 7 years now and I am very happy with it. I was still working nearby at the time and the advertisement on the house made me curious. Then I stopped in there on the way home and was pleasantly surprised. I was able to try out different chairs before making a decision. You wear out a lot of office chairs in your life, but this one is still going strong, no signs of wear and tear, just as comfortable to sit on as it was 7 years ago and I would recommend it to anyone who has back problems. It is not cheap but it is one of those products that does what it promises. In any case, if you can, go to this company and try out the different chairs, it is worth it. The split seat, for example, follows every movement, I only have one backrest, but with the inserted backrest, which can also be adjusted, like everything else on the chair. Each part can be adjusted individually to suit your needs. That in itself is a big plus. The price is justified, quality has its price.

After testing it for a while, we can only say positive things about the chair.
It might take a little getting used to visually, but functionally it is unbeatable.
Especially for those with an existing disc protrusion, as is the case with me, the chair can help make everyday office life more bearable again.
